Can anyone offer any advice for how to deal with missing cost basis information?
I transferred ETF shares from JP Morgan to Webull and then from Webull to Fidelity. Since Webull doesn't show tax lot details with their Omnibus relationship, I was not able to get screenshots of the cost basis information prior to the second transfer but I have the screenshots from JP Morgan.
It's been a month since the transfer from Webull to Fidelity occurred. The Fidelity website is showing a note "c" next to the cost basis saying that costs basis was entered by customer and will not be reported on 1099. I did enter the cost basis manually. I wasn't aware that Fidelity won't utilize this information on their 1099.
I contacted both Fidelity and Webull support. Fidelity is saying they haven't received the cost basis information. Webull is saying that they sent it. I can't seem to get this resolved.
Any suggestions?
