Personal Consumer Issues • Weighing credit card/lounge access options

[Amex Platinum:]As far as lounges, in addition to the Priority Pass membership, I'd also have access to Centurion Lounges, and there are Centurion Lounges in Seattle and Dallas, the places where I'm most likely to be wanting to be in a lounge. The additional account holder fee is $195 and my wife cannot join me as a guest at Centurion Lounges when we travel together unless she is an additional account holder.
This is not quite right. Your wife can join you in the Centurion lounge in one of three ways:

1. She has her own Platinum card as an authorized cardholder. ($195)
2. You pay the guest fee for her ($50)
3. You spend $75,000 per year on the card, and can bring guests into the lounge for free

You should also look at the Citi AAdvantage Executive Eite. Annual fee is $595, and it includes Admiral’s Club access for all cardholders, plus Alaska Club access for the primary cardholder. Fee is $175 for up to 3 authorized users, and then $175 each after that.

IF Centurion lounge is crowded, is there a difference in whether they allow in a paid guest vs. those with their own Amex Plat cards?
