It is certainly possible for a TIPS or a TIPS fund to deliver a negative real yield over a particular period of time.Also, I neglected to mention that my goal is to earn a bond return that at least matches inflation. Is this a realistic goal? (FYI that I am not trying to generate a specific amount of income per year, nor am I trying to match income to future consumption.)
