I scratch my head on this one lol - I've never seen another topic as much discussed over a simple concept - and not just here, but everywhere online.
In real life, it's always been pretty easy. Outside of NYC, Long Island and roughly the adjoining counties (such as Rockland and Westchester) upstate NY is considered to be the rest of the state....to the rest of the world lol. Just ask where Upstate Medical Center is located lol - as one example.
For those of us actually living upstate, we may see ourselves as more regional - Central vs. Western for example - but I gotta say we are far less inclined to make a deal about where the line begins....we're just L-I-V-I-N.
Now, this does make me wonder if they have a similar issue in upstate South Carolina? lol.
