No, not close to 2mil, but property taxes average 16K for a half-mil house, are 100 years old and schools are mediocre. Also salaries are not the same as what you get on the coasts. But we have Lake Erie, so consider us as a potential vacation destination even if you don’t want to live here.Are the majority of the houses over 2mil and average downpayment around 5-750K? Hope not, if the midwest is now like coastal CA there goes all my retirement plans...People are overpaying by ridiculous amounts in my midwestern neighborhood. This is nuts.
