IMO the Netflix series does a pretty good job of presenting the story and most of the key concepts in an easy-to-digest manner. They're not the same characters and specific events, so you can't hop back and forth, as you may be able to with the Tencent version.
Agreed. Most of the major (mind boggling) concepts are there. I have not enjoyed much/most of the acting, though. Kind of a weak cast, if you ask me.

Also agree 100% that anyone who likes the TV shows should pick up the books.
I have reserved "Three Body Problem" [the book] at my local library. 3rd in queue.
I finished the Three Body Problem trilogy. [And am 2/3 thru the 4th book, The Redemption of Time.]
I agree, the concepts are mind-boggling!

I don't think I've ever read an SF series like this. No real protagonists!
Every time I thought I saw a protagonist [Cheng Xin, Luol Ji, Thomas Wade], they did something that was the antithesis of a hero.

And so many gaps in the story/plot lines! I can see why Baoshu wrote a 4th book!

I thought the Netflix series did a good job in the VR games. The visuals were much better than just reading the text in the book.
