If I was in your situation, I would spend the $700 and call it a day.I'm curious if other WFH workers use their own device for work, or if you are given a company issued machine?
I work for a company that will give you a desktop to work at the office, but if you want to work remote, you need your own machine that you pay for yourself. I'm about 30% in office 70% remote because I vastly prefer WFH. Is anyone else in a similar position with having to buy your own equipment? If so, how much do you spend on your WFH setup? What are your ideal WFH items?
I'm looking at getting a 27" 4k monitor, webcam, Logitech MX keyboard/mouse, and decent speakers. All said and done, that could run $700, which gives me pause, but I guess that's a small price to pay for the freedom working from home? (I don't get reimbursed for any of it.)
If you have to buy your own Window 11 pro machine that would be a problem where I used to work.
My previous employer would only allow company owned computers on their network.
