If you have a 3-fund, then you pretty much know what happened to your portfolio. Certainly with as much precision as needed for any practical purpose.+ 1Why would you need to know that every day? You'll likely be a better investor if you just stop checking, whether manual or automatic.
With a simple 3 fund portfolio I have a pretty accurate estimate of my portfolio value just by seeing what VTI, VXUS and BND did during the day.
