Making a job change for the first time in nearly a decade.
Obviously this is a stressful process, so just looking for some specific counsel and advice of anything I may not be considering.
-Employee Benefits: assume my deductibles, etc. will reset? So if I have already hit my max, I gotta start over? Voluntary benefits (IE portable life insurance- any of that worth considering? will get comparable with new employer).
-Taxes: have already hit FICA max; that will reset as well with new employer? Get it back tax time?
-401k: direct rollover looks like best option?
-Resignation/2weeks: I will offer; I am going to competitor, so assume they will walk me out? Is it standard for them to pay me for that period or what?
-Counteroffer: I will get one; not going to consider.
Any thoughts on the above? Other considerations?
