Personal Consumer Issues • Utah Mighty 5 in early June?

If you’re flexible on dates, October is when you’ll have better weather and much thinner crowds. Arches and Zion will be almost unbearable in June.

We’re going for our second time this October. Out for time there was some snow in Bryce Canton that closed some of the roads in the morning due to ice, but other than that we had full run of all of the parks with no crowds at all. It was jacket and hat weather most days.

As long as you don’t hike much ignore those people who say you’re moving too fast. It’s what you do get a chance to see that creates lasting memories, not what you don’t. I’m biased towards not seeing a ton of people when I’m trying to immerse myself in natural beauty. I’ll put in a cap any day if it means I can take picture without 17 people I don’t know in them.

If you stay with June, I’d do 3 in Zion and 2 in Arches/Canyonlands since Zion is a pain to get around in. The shuttles… it’s worth it though especially if you like to hike. Arguably, the best hiking of all of the National parks I’ve been to and its most of them.
I agree with the above and with WCI. If you are a serious hiker, you could probably spend all those days in one of those locations.

On the other hand, if you (OP) are like us when we visited in 2008 (with my parents and kids in tow), you would probably spend 90 percent of the time driving and hitting the viewpoints to take in the sights by stepping out the car. The heat should not impact you much.

That said, May was hot enough for us - and we were visiting from Florida!
