I've never come up with a realistic scenario where having a little silver or gold would matter so I've never been into precious metals.
I guess I did stick a little money into some tungsten alloy and aluminum alloy a while back. Not an investment, purely an expense. I have a pair of spheres that are about the size of a tennis ball sitting on my desk. I like to play with the tungsten ball when I'm sitting on teams calls. The density difference between the two of them is still a little hard to wrap my head around.
