Indeed! I rarely do that but I think in this case it was the first time I'd placed such a transaction and I just thought I might want to review the confirmation later. But I actually saved the screenshot to a temporary holdings folder I routinely delete.Call. Good thing you saved your confirmation
So the Vanguard rep could see no evidence of the MMF transaction, but I was able to upload the screenshot and then they understood the issue. They are putting in a repair ticket. Sanitized screenshot below.
But I did notice something quite interesting on the web confirmation. The SHARES for the MMF show $8500, but the AMOUNT shows "($0.00)". I never would have noticed that if I wasn't closely describing my confirmation to the rep when explaining the problem. But it's clear something didn't go right. On their end they can't see any evidence of an $8500 attempt. That is, they can't see the same confirmation I was shown. The only mapping they have from my confirmation number at the top of that screen goes to only the Total Market transaction on their side.
Side note: the rep was responsive, pleasant, and capable.
