Hey y'all first I wanted to say thank you for all the replies, it has given me a lot to think about. I also wanted go apologize for some confusion in my initial post and follow up, I don't think I did a good job of being clear. I will blame it on posting too close to bed time.

Few quick comments on what I have read so far and will try to reply to.

1. The home was a new construction build we bought early last year, with the bait stations installed by the pest control company. Thinking now, I don't there is any risk with identifying the company. It is Home Team Pest Defense. At the end of January/Beginning of February of this year, a tech came out and performed a check of the bait stations. I was unavailable at the time to watch and discuss w/ the tech, but prior to them driving off they mentioned termites were located in one of the bait stations and it would be in a report. That report has not been provided and when I talked to the HTPD customer rep at the end of February they said the report noted no issues. As far as I am aware, there is not a current termite problem with the structure. We do have a wooden fence that surrounds around 60% of the house perimeter, with pressure treated pine.

2. Looking at the NCSU extension office information on termites (https://content.ces.ncsu.edu/termites-b ... nd-control), it appears NC is home to a few varieties of the underground termites. The siding of our house starts anywhere from 10" to 18" above the ground. Between the ground and siding appears to be a foam type of insulation and then the actual slab itself.

3. A question I think was raised about what HTPD currently performs. The $380 is an annual renewal fee, covers the tech coming out to check stations and keep the warranty in place. No home inspection has been completed at least since we moved in. Their contract does stipulate in the service commitments section they perform inspection to the structure when deemed necessary by the company or annually upon customer request. When they came out earlier, they were out in 15 minutes so I doubt any inspection past the stations was performed. I am sure the annual inspection will happen once they know the payment is coming through.

4. Not on well water, so shouldn't pose an issue with any type of contamination in that regard. House has gutters, which would allow us to direct that roof water past the treatment line if that would even matter.

Maybe the best approach would be to have the treatment applied on the surface by one of the quoted companies with a DIY portion of our own bait stations? The current ones in place will get pulled once the contract is up, I can probably just ask them to not fill in the holes and throw in our own to save on the digging.
Was the home pretreated for termites before the slab was poured? If so, with what? How long does that last?
I was told that Termidor has a life between 5-10 years - 10 being very optimistic in real life aplications.
