I have had this one for over 10 years and another one like it for decades before that. Used in the shop on truck tire lug nuts, tractor, etc.I have a Rigid 6 Gal. Portable Electric Pancake Air Compressor.
I wanted to buy an impact driver to easily remove lugnuts for DIY brake jobs and other things. Since I have air compresssor I figured I would buy one to run off that rather than a battery one as it would likely be cheaper.
Can a fellow BH DIY’er recommend one?
I have 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch sockets
It is the same as the one's you see in all the tire shops. Will run all day long. Used in my warehouse and shop all the time.

I bought this cordess 1/2 " air impact and am surprised how powerful it is. Works fine on car lug nuts, stubborn lawn mower blade bolts, etc.
Dewalt 20v 1/2" impact driver cordless.

Also have a Hitachi electric 3/4" drive impact driver but it was around $300. Used for heavy farm equipment (brush hog blade bolts/nuts.
Safety:
Be sure to use the dark/black impact sockets, made for that. If you use regular sockets they will shatter/crack.
Harbor Freight has them. Regular and deep socket.
Your 6 gallon pancake compressor will be fine for what you're planning.
Remember: jack stands and tire chocks.
The Ingersol Rand can break lug nuts, as they do at the tire shops. The torque is adjustable. Use 1/2 drive "torx sticks" (harbor freight) instead of a torque wrench if you want to just get in the ballpark.
They look like this:

Save your back even more with an "air jack" instead of a floor jack.

Doing a full service on a Honda Pioneer 1000 right now. Here's a pic of the cool "air jack". I wish I had gotten one long ago.
