Grad School:
Thanks for the list. Do people pay for graduate school and weddings? I work in a pretty high earning industry and my coworkers are adamant about not paying for grad school or weddings.
We have 3 adult sons. One went to Germany for an MS in a STEM field, and we paid for his living expenses but his grad school covered his tuition. He ten came to the USA and his PhD was covered by a stipend which covered his tuition, health insurance, and other student fees plus a salary of about 37K. The other two are in STEM fields, which usually would have the same financial arrangements.
I believe most non STEM grad schools would be a different situation...and can be very expensive.
Weddings:
Two of our sons are married, we offered to cover each wedding, but only paid for the wedding to our PhD son, who married in our back yard.
The other son and his spouse paid for their own, which was of a similar modest event, but we all worked on the preparations, etc. They married in a forested park area.
