I would like to add how much I've enjoyed all your posts about your travels and your view that you "walk with history" when you visit places. To me, that's a very emotional and appropriate way of experiencing our travels throughout the world. I remember Jack Bogle's daughter telling us at a Bogleheads' Conference that her father would always make the kids read all about the history of a place before their family went, often crammed in the family car, to visit something - at the time, she and her siblings thought it was tedious exercise, but of course, they now appreciate it
