Personal Consumer Issues • Integrated control with mini-split heat pump and oil burner

I dont have my boiler and minisplits on an integrated control. I have the minisplit set to 68 degrees and the boiler set to provide heat at 66 degrees. So once it gets cold enough that the minisplit cant keep up, the boiler comes on. Seems to work pretty well.

Cheers.
Then there is a crossover going the other way? Or, what causes the mini-splits to come back on? If the boiler went out at 67 the minisplit would not be starting?

You do have the expense of maintaining two separate heating systems.
Not sure I understand your question. When the temp is below 66 both the heat pump and boiler are ON. When the temp is between 66 and 68 only the monisplit is ON. Above 68 neither is ON. This is for heat only.
