Non-US Investing • Roth Conversion as a UK resident

I’m in a similar boat, having moved back to the UK after living in the US for years, and I’ve been learning a lot about the whole tax situation. For your Roth conversion, converting around $50k a year sounds like a solid idea to keep your tax bracket in check, especially with your SS and IRA withdrawals already coming in. It’s definitely smart to ask Vanguard to withhold taxes for the conversion to avoid any surprises later. As for the HMRC reporting funds, it’s a good idea to make sure you’re using the right ones. I’ve had to double-check this myself because if the funds aren’t on the HMRC’s approved list, it could complicate things with your UK tax filings. Vanguard should be able to help you out with that.
