I agree on the $50 fee not being enough to worry about, but I am sympathetic to the folks who are just trying to figure out how much to transfer over. (50,100, 250, IRAs, bank IRAs, brokerage v IRAs????) this has been less than clear from US Bank.I would be coming for real money, not saving a dollar a week by tying up a quarter million.
Your point is a good one, but along those lines, if the Visa fee were waived with a certain account balance, we'd still try to achieve that to maximize our savings there too. We're all trying to squeeze this deal for all we can get. No one is going to US Bank for the service or the physical footprint or the great website or snappy logo - we're all coming just for the $$.
It may be somewhat challenging for people to come up with a clean $100K to dump into a crappy feature-limited brokerage. Account type, investment type (needed), etc. all come into play for those cobbling together funds. Knowing an exact amount to waive the fee is helpful, but of course, not necessary.
