I think letting dividends and capital gains roll to cash and re-investing as appropriate at that time is probably my best bet.
VBIAX is interesting - I'll look at that more closely.
I realize that bonds in taxable is a no-no, and that the portfolio AA should be managed and not necessarily each individual account, but for us this is what works.
The warning about rebalancing too often is appreciated - we're finalizing changes we've been planning and are finally approaching a state where we can just let it do it's thing.
