The lowest growth to value spread was in April 2007 (since 1978). That was after a crazy run for small value at 14.25% per year since 2000 while the broad market returned 2% over the same period. Small value is still in the outhouse now as crazy growth gets crazier. Might be a good gamble to take on small value if you can wait for years for a tipping point. But, of course, no one knows.
