I intended to say "near" full-ride. The scholarship covers tuition and housing specifically and includes a $250/semester book allowance and a $1750/semester stipend.
Last year, he was in the dorm and had a meal plan. There were maybe $100 worth of books not covered. And we bought a required laptop. Class fees are not covered and we paid those as well. This year he is off campus with no meal plan. He gets a refund of most of the stipend after class fees are taken out and uses it for food. We haven't paid anything.
