You said it much shorter than I did.
You can also pay for tires more frequently and pay a higher insurance premium. Best to figure the cost of ownership.
I don’t think that’s what OP want to hear though. It’s a penny wise pound foolish situation. But seems like gas price is being used as a justification for OP to buy a EV.
I am still driving my 1993 GEO Prizm 5Mt (aka Toyota Corolla). My wife asked my to change this car for a better one long time ago. The little pony just refuses to fail with just regular oil change. I am a Bogle head car driver.
1993... I'm speechless. You're not a boglehead car driver, you're THE boglehead car driver.

Anyways, I think you can keep the insurance and tax/registration on your old ICE car to the bare minimum. I don't think it cost much if you just keep that car just in case. But I'd sell it anyways. Parking an old car for a long time could create me trouble than it's worth.
