Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Homeowners Insurance

In 2021, our rate was $6k per year and filed a claim for a new roof due to hail damage that cost $57k. A hail resistant roof was installed and as a result our premium was lowered to $4,700. Since then, there have been 2 more hail storms in our development that required many of our neighbors to file claims but our roof was fine and we’ve submitted no other claims.
I was told my homeowners insurance was going up to help pay for someone’s $57K roof. Image may be NSFW.
