If you get in the habit of using an app, you eliminate the risk of ending up on a scam site that looks just like your bank, but isn’t. (And then they collect your credentials and steal your money). This is a huge plus.No proof, but an app is probably safer. Reasons:
1) iPhone app is from the App Store, which has already been curated and verified and scanned for "viruses";
2) Hard to click on various links from within app
3) FaceID is needed for many things including just viewing your own phone
That being said, I wouldn't worry about doing online banking on your computer. You can do a dedicated browser like Firefox for general browsing and Safari for bank stuff.
I really don’t interact with any financial institutions on a traditional PC anymore. And I rarely access them via web browser either.
