Personal Consumer Issues • Looking for suggestions to put up smoke detector without drilling in plaster ceiling

...Are the walls in play? Several of our smoke detectors are on the wall up near the ceiling.

I would think the makeup of the plaster on the walls would be similar to the ceiling. If the ceiling plaster has asbestos I suspect the wall plaster would as well.
