It must. From a regulatory standpoint it would be deeply troubling if the advisory service depended on the asset management profits. Or the other way around. The advisory service is supposed to making independent decisions based on the best interest of the clients. This is hard to do when your profits come from the asset management side, where you steer business too. American Express ran into problems here.Does Vanguard Brokerage Services make a profit?
