that's why you have a problem now, because you didn't start with the end in mind.
one question to ask is are you continuing to buy these stocks now at their current price?
if the answer is yes, then you could (i say could) continue to hold the stocks because you believe in them enough to continue buying them (that doesn't mean you might not be wrong).
if the answer is no, then why are you holding on to something you're not willing to buy more of at the current price?
Another similar way to look at it is, say you have $500,000 in Tesla. Ask yourself if I didn't own $500k worth of Tesla, would I go out right now and buy $500k worth of Tesla?
If the answer is no, then why are you holding $500k worth of Tesla? Because every day you continue to hold $500k worth of Tesla, you're essentially making a decision to buy $500k of Tesla.
If the answer is yes, you would buy $500k worth of Tesla right now, then why are you asking how to sell and move to VTI? Why aren't you scrounging through the couch cushions to find loose change to buy more Tesla stock? Why aren't you backing up the truck?
