This issue always trips me up in these discussions, so I am clarifying for both the myself and the OP:

If the OP dies prior to his spouse’s FRA (assuming age 66), then she will not receive 100% of his larger benefit if she claims the survivor’s benefit before she turns 66 — correct?

Given their age difference, this scenario is theoretically possible. But wishing them both long lives! :happy
Her FRA is 67. Yes if she is not yet 67, then she will not collect 100%. Hopefully, there would be other assets and she could wait until FRA to file for survivors.
