Personal Investments • 403b mixed traditional and Roth distributions

I noticed in my plan that both the traditional and Roth amounts seem to have to be invested the same way, for example, the same percentage of allocation, you can’t for example only do stock fund for the 403B Roth and only Invest in bond fund for the traditional 403b. Is that typical?

I think it is (same situation with my 403b).

another question I have is when I retire and want to take distributions, can I choose to withdraw from only the traditional contributions or only the Roth contributions or a percentage I define of Pretax and after tax? Or must the distribution come from both the traditional and Roth in proportion to their relative make up of the total balance of the 403b?

Most likely, you would rollover the after tax portion to a Roth IRA. The pre-tax portion goes to a tIRA or could be kept in the 403b as well. Might depend on the plan rules.
