Personal Consumer Issues • EV Tires: Tesla Model Y options?

I am confused about tires for a Tesla Model Y and would like some suggestions.

I am considering getting snow tires/wheels from Tesla this winter because they are incredibly cheap for what you get.

My Model Y currently has ContPro Contact all seasons. I believe they are built for EVs. Once these are ready to be replaced, if I get the snow tires, I'd likely just get summer tires.

Reading online, there's so much mixed information about new tires for EVs. Supposedly EV "specific "tires wear better, don't impact range, and are much quieter than traditional tires. But they seem to be pretty poorly rated.

On the other hand, people report that non-EV specific tires can significantly diminish range, are louder, and wear down a lot faster.

I've always bought Michelin tires, but their EV specific summer tire is REALLY poorly rated. For EV owners who have replaced their tires, what did you get and are you happy with them?
Most “EV approved” type labeling is marketing. Similar to how a computer mouse would be marked “Windows-compatible”. Its often redundant nonsense. You’ll see this when tire manufacturers retroactively apply that label to pre-existing tire models.

Some newly-introduced tires with that label may have EV-centric design aimed to maximize range and/or minimize noise, by using harder compounds, by reducing tread width (for given nominal width), by using foam inserts, etc.

The empirical evidence of their benefits is slim.

When selecting tires, the most important thing to do is pick the most appropriate tire class for your intended usage, eg mild winter, extreme winter, touring, performance summer, etc. Next, stick with reputable brands. (They correlate with price). Everything after that is 3rd-order minutiae.
