It is well established by many scientific studies on the matter that WHITE is the safest color and is involved in 12% fewer crashes as a result of its higher visibility.

However, before you rush to Benjamin Moore for a bucket of white paint, your biggest levers for reducing your risk of an accident are -
1) drive less. Plan all your driving, consolidate all shopping/retail trips into weekly or biweekly trips. It is easy to reduce your driving 30%.
2) don't drive after dark when you are less visible to others, especially drunks who like to come out after dark. You are at TEN times higher risk of a collision with a drunk around midnight than you are at 9am.
3) don't drive in adverse conditions - rain, snow, fog - when you can not be seen nor can you see others/obstacles nor control your vehicle.
