Many investors can't do this. They hop into things after they've been hot, then are out of the market for long periods of time and miss big runs.
Also if a managed account is just going to mostly throw you into index funds, why bother? You can do that yourself and save the mgt cost.
Bogleheads are a tiny part of the investing population.
If a managed account keeps a client from making big mistakes, and that might be a big if, it's worth the expense.
