One of the hardest things for honest people to understand is that dishonest people will look you in the eye and lie without a twinge of remorse. Honest people too often wrongly believe that, with the right factual and moral arguments, they can turn dishonest people around. They can’t. Dishonest people aren’t driven by facts or morality. They’re driven by the utter certainty that they’re better than the people they’re scamming.
