I know of 2 cases where a friend/ relative of a credit card holder frequently used a cc without the holder's permission. In one case, I was behind a lady at the market who was talking loudly to the cashier while her groceries were being scanned about why she reported fraud on her CC when her son used it without her permission. She said she had cancelled the card, but then attempted to use it. It was rejected and they asked her to use a different card. She didn't have any others but insisted the card was hers, showed them an ID and tried again. She couldn't understand why she couldn't use it yet have it blocked for her son.
The line grew longer as the lady and cashier tried several times and they finally bagged and set her groceries aside and asked to to go clear it with the CC company or get another form of payment.
There was almost a cheer when she left since everyone heard her (holding up the line).
