Personal Investments • Bonds and the Bond Market - Book Recommendations?

Hi folks, I'm looking to purchase some bonds for my Roth IRA and I'm still a bit lost when it comes to the bond market and the range of yields I should seek out. I understand the differences between US treasuries (including TIPS), municipal bonds, investment-grade bonds, and "high-yield" bonds, but there's so much that I don't know. From what I've read in the news, the yield curve appears to be steepening.

Any recommendations for good books about bonds? The bond market is huge and incredibly complex. I don't want to make a purchase that I may later regret.

Some of the books I've found on Amazon, which I will borrow from my local library for free (support your local library!), include:

- "The Bond Book, Third Edition: Everything Investors Need to Know About Treasuries, Municipals, GNMAs, Corporates, Zeros, Bond Funds, Money Market Funds, and More" by Annette Thau

- "Bond Markets, Analysis, and Strategies, tenth edition" by Frank J. Fabozzi

- "How the Bond Market Works: Second Edition" by Robert Zipf

If anyone has any other suggestions, it would be lovely if you could share them. I love to read, but my time is limited and I can't devour as many books as I could when I was younger.

Thanks in advance!
