Personal Consumer Issues • Fort Collins Co vs. Dayton Ohio for weather and overall quality of life

Isn't Dayton still suffering Post-Industrial decline? Isn't Cincinatti still a very conservative place, just over the bridge from Kentucky? I had Ohio-born employees in Cleveland who referred to it ironically as "Gawd's Country." Haven't been there in 30 years.
I dont think the bigger cities in Ohio are conservative. Very much the opposite. It gets a little more traditional once you get out of the city limits and into the suburbs and it can get very conservative in the country side. Would imagine this isnt any different in Colorado?
Denver's airport is like the 3rd or 4th busiest in the US. There are literally direct flights almost everywhere.
I have a different view on this. I fly out of Columbus, OH which is smaller than Cinci´s airport. Sure, you have to do a stop over if you want to go to less than common places, but you literally pop into the airport 30 minutes before departure, park your car right infront of the terminal, breeze through security in 5 minutes or less and you´re at the gate with 15 minutes to spare. It´s that easy to get into the air. I lived in a city with an airport busier than DEN and I hated it. You had to struggle to find parking. Drive an eternity to get there. Be there at least 90 minutes before your flight left... I find going from medium sized airports very much preferable.
I get the small airport appeal. But, nothing beats a non-stop flight and plenty of choices. And, if something goes wrong with the plane or flight, there are other options. Bags at Denver are fast in comparison to just about every other airport I've experienced. Now that they have opened another security area, getting to the gate is pretty easy and fast.

As for taxes and politics, Colorado is reliably Democratic overall, with more rural areas being Republican. Colorado also has a Constitutional Amendment called TABOR that makes it hard to raise taxes without voter approval and requires the state to return money (usually as a tax refund) if they have collected too much.
