The 2024 IRA contribution limit is $7,000 for each of you and spouse.… New annual Contributions
$23k his 401k (4% employer matching contributions)
$23k her 401k (4% employer matching contributions)
$7500 his IRA/Roth IRA
$7500 her IRA/Roth IRA
$12 taxable (for retirement, not short term goals) …
Is the $12 contribution to Taxable a typo? Yes, this should have said 12000. Edited.
+1 to delamer’s suggestion to reduce the # of holdings in each account by, for example, holding your international allocation in just one account. I will work to clean this up.
As you look at which account to place your holdings, see which account offers the better fund or lower ER. For example, his 401k uses an active bond fund with an ER of 0.2709% whereas her 401k uses a passive Vanguard bond fund with an ER of 0.019%. I chose the active bond in my 401k. because it had more exposure to corporate bonds and some foreign bond. I can switch this to the bond index fund which has a 0.0067% ER.
