Right now almost everything marketed as part of the "AI" fad is a product that is sold, not bought, similar to whole life insurance.
That said, IPhone 16 is probably a great device with the latest hardware, it might make sense to get an IPhone 16 if a new device is needed vs buying an older one, especially if she keeps the devices for 4-5 years. If it were me shopping I'd look at the hardware and "real" features of the device, and I would consider it's projected life span (Apple supports phones for X years), ignore the "AI" pitch
