Investing - Theory, News & General • Is Buffett’s portfolio really 90/10?

Buffett's portfolio is Berkshire Hathaway. He does not invest Berkshire's free cash flow in a specific allocation. It changes over time. If he follows anything, he seems to prefer to have no less than 6-8 months in operational expenses in T-Bills. As others have mentioned, the 90/10 portfolio can be most appropriately applied to his estate plan once he dies. However, the 90/10 portfolio is a close representation of what he has recommended in the past, which is to essentially hold an amount in T-bills that a person would feel comfortable with in all market environments and then invest the rest in equities (specifically American companies). It's really that simple. Holding location is irrelevant.

As others have noted, Buffett's ideas are not for everyone. Make sure they are right for you.
