I have won the game but that doesn't determine how to manage or spend what I have. To me "won the game" simply means I've got large accumulated investment and savings accounts. I don't need more. But truly what I have isn't only mine. It's 50% owned by my spouse. And we feel a strong commitment to help our (grown) kids when there's a need. For example, some months ago we took more than $400K in cash out of our brokerage account and gave it to one of our children who hoped to buy a new residence. Even so, after that we've "stayed the course" in our main investment and savings accounts. Staying the course doesn't mean you just sit on your money or investments.
