We love Yosemite in November when the crowds are down! Chains - probably won't need but definitely should have on board. Weather - who knows?! -But you will need the winter clothing even if you get nice weather because the nights and early a.m. will be chilly.
With your group of youngsters I'd suggest splitting Mirror Lake and Vernal Falls on to separate days - Mirror in particular is a pretty long round trip hike. Mirror Lake/Yosemite Falls and Vernal/Meadow Loop would be good days. The Awahnee is worth a look around even though the restaurant is 'no-go' right now. The shuttle will be entertaining for the kids on its own!
Food is 'overpriced cafeteria' in the Valley - good stuff for the kids maybe not so much for parents! The Curry Village coffee shop actually did really good coffee and pastries the last time we were there.
For departure day activity you might consider one of the big trees groves. If you're going out via 41 then go for Mariposa Grove which is the best site; going north on 120 check out Merced Grove or Tuolumne Grove (just off 120 on Tioga Pass Road) but be aware both these north groves require 2 mile+ round trip hiking with 500 foot elevation change.
