Unless you're predicting the a secular bear market coupled with high inflation (like the period from 1966-1982), I think I know what you're referring to. I think 1973 might be the better comp in terms of what financial analysts are worried about (oil shock contributing to stagflation), but the global oil market is very different now than it was then and we also have other energy options. That said, we have seen how conflict (Ukraine) can upend global markets, so I could be totally wrong in my optimism, or at least lack of pessimism.
Well, rates had just dipped a bit from rising. The economy had just experienced a soft landing. The stock market had corrected recently but recovered well enough. There was an investor appetite to pay high prices for technology companies. Definitely a wiffle waffle top there with the Nifty Fifty for a few years before war, oil crisis, stagflation, etc.
