In all fairness to the OP, he/she was looking for financial advice, not how to navigate the complexities of his work situation.
In all fairness to OP, they still needed to hear it. All financial advice is personal, and keeping one's job as long as possible is absolutely financial advice.

ETA: I'm in a similar situation to OP, albeit without a single precipitating event, just bad market conditions. The one thing I'm 100% clear on is I'm not going to spin the hamster wheel faster. And that isn't even out of spite. My employer has actually taken great care of me, treated me very well, and I'm still doing all the things I'm supposed to do. But the situation is what it is and I won't compromise my work-life-balance. I'm lucky enough to have that luxury after years of saving.
Maybe if you weren't surfing the web while at work and responding to Boglehead forums, you wouldn't be in the same situation.
