Now that is just hillarious. Do they like the cyclical click of the mechanism that rotates the spool of tape more than the annoying hiss of the tape? Perhaps I can finally unload the tape deck that I have not used in 30 years.
I grew up on tapes and can see the appeal of them in the abstract. They're more portable and durable than vinyl. They're fun to handle - they slot satisfyingly into their cases or the player and everything is clicky and snappy to interact with. If you like literally holding vinyls, there's a satisfaction to this as well.

Like a vintage car, its slow and fragile but you imagine why people like interacting with them.
