I’d cut off the college funding at this point and redirect to savings. I’d also find a fee only advisor and get a plan together.

How's the earnings security? Hopefully you have 20 more years, but you never know. I assume you haven't been earning that much for long, or you'd have a few million saved up.

If the wife is independent, look into a solo 401k. Limits are up to 70k.

Any advice on best way to search for a fee only advisor?
Yes, we have discussed and are likely going to shut off the 529 investment. DW earnings are stable. DH more volatile. Yes only earning this amount for 5yrs. First couple of years we used bonuses to dump into 529s so we would have less concern down the road.
