Well, I can tell you that referring to the forum moderators here as "police" isn't going to induce a lot of warm responses.Yes, doing something demonstrably bad is much less 'offensive' than saying something 'snarky' in reaction to an actual bad treatment in
this society.
At some point, one has to decide whether the person or service provider is going to change behavior or not and then either work it or move along. Once I make a decision to move along I do it as quickly as possible. When I was working, many of my colleagues used to hold on to weak performers thinking that a warm body was better than no body. I was never a subscriber to that theory so once I made a decision that an employee or service provider could not perform it was generally a quick action.
I can say that the few transactional issues I have had were handled quickly by the rep. The last one was in December when I discovered that I could not setup alerts. I got an answer back in two days.
I have never made general complaints (e.g. web site appearance) through the CS organization because my expectations are that they will simply get forwarded on and end up in a large pile with others; my theory is that if I notice something, many others do too so it is probably already reported.
As I may have mentioned before, if VG stops meeting my key needs or if I develop concerns about things like transaction integrity or security, I will simply move along quietly. Fidelity would be my likely destination. I've used them before and, while they have issues like all brokers, they are generally solid, their web interface is (or was) a bit cleaner and they have the added value of offices within 100 miles of where I live.
