Personal Consumer Issues • Seeking vehicle advice - 2014 Nissan Sentra replace or not

Update:

DD got her license. Does not have assigned parking spot at school yet. Need to make her practice more.

Had an accident where I rear ended another vehicle. Cx9 got repaired and driving ok.confidence level for both Sentra and cx9 dropped after accident. No automated emergency breaking or collision warning like newer vehicle etc. Sentra became 10 yr old value dropped below 4k and crossed 61k miles. Cx9 now crossed 71k miles.

Found a deal for Tesla Y 260 miles range - 43k minus Tesla incentive 2.2k minus cyber truck reservation incentive 1k minus federal 7.5k minus state rebate 2.5k minus megacorp rebate 4k for ev = 25.8 plus destination charge + tax = 29k approx. + Home charger. It is like a new camry. wouldn't buy the cyber truck now. But the reservation did yield value.

Accident+ new Tesla + teenage DD added to insurance policy pushed up insurance to three times of what I was paying. So next task - take defensive driving course for all three and find cheaper provider. With the existing claim on auto may be need to wait longer before switching. Also may consider sell off Sentra and try living with 2 cars. That can knock off almost 1/3
Insurance cost but puts DD in a more expensive newer car
