Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Inflation "rich"?

Definitely feel a bit squeezed by inflation, but the capability of the products I buy has increased dramatically. A modern low-end smartphone is a miracle for a pittance. A Camry of today would be considered a high end luxury car of years past. My Hokas feel incredible. I just installed 60,000 lumens of light in my garage for $150. The $70 sous vide machine made a perfectly cooked prime rib with no skill required. These things still seem so wondrous to me.

But the big caveat is that I don’t really enjoy traveling much. If I did, I suspect I would have major complaints because that seems to have gone in the opposite direction. Prices have increased, and quality has gone down.
