I’ve no direct experience with Nest so cannot accurately comment but I understand their charges to be expensive. It may not be worth consolidating pensions there. Research whether transferring to a SIPP - and whether doing a partial transfer of active workplace pension with Nest, say annually, are worth doing.

Things to research:
- cost of the platform
- fund availability and costs
- whether the funds available track their indices well.

For Vanguard Investor, you only need to commit to paying in £100 monthly / £500 one off to open the account. So you could set up a DD for £100 a month to open, then once it’s actually open, you can cancel the direct debit / not pay in / pay in £1 at a time by debit card etc.
